New Year's Eve has always been a time for looking back to the past, and more importantly, forward to the coming year. It's a time to reflect on the changes we want (or need) to make and resolve to follow through on those changes.
1. Spend More Time with Family & Friends
By spending more quality time together as a family, you will build a stronger family unit. Your family will stick together through rough times, and enjoy fun times together as well.
2. Fit in Fitness
Reduces the risk of some cancers, increases longevity, helps achieve and maintain weight loss, enhances mood, lowers blood pressure, and even improves arthritis. In short, exercise keeps you healthy and makes you look and feel better.
3. Quit Smoking

6. Help Others
In order to overcome selfishness you need to be more compassionate. A good start would be to volunteer at a place where you actually get to see the people you're helping or at least talk to them. A soup kitchen, a crisis line, a hospital or nursing home. This way you're in contact with all kinds of different people and see first hand what a little bit of help can accomplish. You'll start to really feel good about helping out. You'll be proud of yourself and you'll be more compassionate and more willing to help.
Whether you choose to spend time helping out at your local library, mentoring a child, or building a house, there are many nonprofit volunteer organizations that could really use your help. Maybe you can find it in you to donate the furniture, clothing and other household items that you no longer need, rather than leaving them out by the curb to fill up our landfills.
7. Get Organized
Why Be Organized? You will feel more in control - reducing the stress that unchecked clutter in your home or office produces. You will have more room - A reorganization of almost any drawer, closet, room or office produces more space even if you eliminate nothing.
You will be able to find something when you want it - saving endless time spent looking for keys, files, telephone numbers, or any other item which seems to disappear just when we need it the most.
